10 Tips to reflect On
Mirrors aren't just for checking your hair as you run out of the house in the morning. When thoughtfully added to your room design, framed mirrors have the ability to change the overall look and feel of a room in ways that other wall décor can't. Here are some tips to help you take full advantage of the special touch a custom- famed mirror can bring to any room in your house
Be Creative- Mirrors in the kitchen, family room, maybe a narrow stairwell to open it up.
Lighten Up- Bring some light into a dark room. Make sure you hang it to reflect inside light.. or better yet, maybe a lovely view of the trees or garden outside.
Expand your Space- Mirrors give a room a feeling of depth
Group Up- Try grouping several small mirrors. Think eclectic here. It's not important to match the surroundings or each other.
What's showing?- Hanging a framed mirror to reflect something on the opposite wall- a piece of framed art, for example, can enhance a living space…and make the art work twice as hard.
Mix and Match- Try mixing framed mirrors on the wall with other décor- framed art, tapestries…
-
Or Just Match- Framing a mirror to match your furniture gives the room a custom look that can't be found anywhere else.
Hang or Not- Set them on easels or lean a large mirror on the floor against the wall or on a mantel. This gives the room a more casual look.
Weight- Mirrors can get very heavy. Make sure you discuss with your custom framer the correct methods and products to hang them safely in your home. We offer hanging services!
Height- If you are using a mirror for grooming, make sure it's positioned on the wall at a comfortable height.
